What is Different?

A foot in both hemispheres:
East and West

Believing that all things have their place, Dr. Kauffman balanced Western Medicine and Holistic healing in pursuit of true health and healing. When used judiciously, Western Medicine has powerful treatments, such as surgery, drugs and for emergency situations including trauma. It is also important for diagnosis in physical terms, ie. Kidney disease, Diabetes, Cancer, Hypertension.

A serious condition like pneumonia would call for antibiotics, yet an upper respiratory infection (a cold or the flu) could be treated holistically as effectively without side effects often associated with Western Medicine. Holistic Medicine differs from the above in that, more than just "treating a condition", it looks at the human being as a whole in terms of Body, Mind, and Spirit. When these are fully integrated, no dis-ease can exist. Therefore it is this integration that Holistic Medicine practioners strive for. It is, in fact, in this state of balance, that the individual truly thrives in all areas of life.

Dr. Kauffman focused on Chinese Medicine, utilizing Five Element Acupuncture, the most holistic form of Acupuncture, which truly balances and harmonizes the human being.
